Super-Manager Bud Harner Interview

As a drummer, Bud Harner has toured with big name acts, including a long stint with the talented icon, Barry Manilow. Bud and the rhythm section from the Manilow band became Uncle Festive, a popular contemporary jazz group during the late 80s and early 90s. From there he went to work as an in-house booking agent for the group’s label, Mesa/Bluemoon. He moved onto Verve as a promotion person and then into A&R at GRP. As the music business changed, he segued into artist management with Chapman and Co., which has an impressive roster of the top contemporary and smooth jazz recording artists.
